The Bear, Season 5
Cousin! You've got to watch this. I first saw it when Fauna was a very different beast to where it is now, then went back to the early seasons with Tom recently. The parallels with building a business kept landing: the stress, the strain, the emotional rollercoaster. It's a fast-paced, often stressful series, but you become so bonded with the characters you find yourself rooting for them even at their most maddening.
Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara
Series 2's "Forks" episode, where Richie has his big revelation in a Michelin-starred kitchen, is the reason I picked this up. He reads it on screen, so I did too. It completely shifted how I think about work and running my own business. The drive to overdeliver running through it is genuinely insane, and just as inspiring.
Red Bull Soapbox Race
Heading to Ally Pally on 20th June to watch homemade, engineless carts hurtle down a hill in the name of glory. Truly excited about the sheer bonkers-ness of it all.
1536 at the Almeida
I'm heading to the Almeida this month to see this one. Set in the final, fatal year of Anne Boleyn, it follows three women in the Essex countryside as the news from court reaches them. Meant to be sharp and very current despite the period setting.
Marylebone Summer Fair
Marylebone High Street closes to traffic for a day of food, music and independent shops spilling out onto the pavements. Fauna will be there. Promises to be a great day out, and the sun might even decide to show up.
